To the Abbey of Hailes, in his time an important center of pilgrimage, is now a romantic ruin precious. He sits in the shadow of the Cotswolds, and is one of the main attractions of the region of Gloucestershire. It was founded around 1246, one of the last which Henry VIII disbanded back in 1539. During its 300 years of history, Hailes Abbey was an important center of pilgrimage. It was a vial in which they believed kept the drops of blood of Christ. Thousands of faithful devotees traveled here to see the sacred relics on display in a shrine built alongside the main church.
